General Roleplay Rules & Regulations

The official guide for all members of First In The Nation Roleplay. You are responsible for staying familiar with everything on this page.

This Rules and Regulations Handbook serves as the official guide for all members of First In The Nation Roleplay (FINRP). Its purpose is to establish the standards, expectations, and policies that help maintain a professional, realistic, and enjoyable roleplay environment for everyone.

While this handbook covers the vast majority of situations members may encounter, it is impossible to anticipate every circumstance. Members are expected to understand not only the written rules but also the intent behind them. Attempting to exploit loopholes or technicalities to bypass these policies may still result in disciplinary action.

The administration of First In The Nation Roleplay reserves the right to interpret and enforce these rules in the best interest of the community. Behavior that clearly violates the spirit or intent of these policies may be addressed even if it is not explicitly described within this handbook.

Members are responsible for remaining familiar with all current rules, policies, and community documentation. Rules and procedures may be updated as the community evolves. Continued participation in FINRP constitutes acceptance of the most current version of these policies.

FINRP is committed to fostering a mature, respectful, and drama-free community. Actions intended to disrupt the community, encourage rule violations, spread misinformation, evade disciplinary action, or otherwise undermine the integrity of the server may result in administrative action.

Additionally, all community-created resources, documentation, or other assets voluntarily submitted or transferred for official FINRP use may be retained and used by the community in accordance with their intended purpose unless otherwise agreed upon by management.

By participating in First In The Nation Roleplay, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Rules and Regulations, as well as any future revisions or policies published by the administration.

📋 General Community Guidelines

1.1 Minimum Requirements for Membership

To ensure a mature and high-quality environment, all members must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 16 years of age on the day the application is submitted. (No exceptions).
  • Own a full, legal copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PC.
  • Possess a high-quality, clear-sounding microphone/headset.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Submit all applications independently and honestly.

1.2 Respect and Professionalism

FINRP operates on a "Community First" mentality. Respect is mandatory, regardless of a member's rank or time in the server.

  • Golden Rule: Treat all members how you wish to be treated. Toxic behavior, bullying, or passive-aggressive conduct will not be tolerated.
  • Honesty: Lying, deceiving, or withholding information from Staff or Internal Affairs during an investigation will result in immediate suspension or removal.
  • Cliques & Exclusion: The formation of exclusionary "cliques" that alienate other members damages community morale and is prohibited. We are one community; be welcoming to new members.
  • Disputes: Do not argue in public channels (Discord general chats, TeamSpeak, or In-Game OOC). If a dispute arises, step away and contact a Staff member via the proper channels.

1.3 Naming Conventions and Tags

To maintain a professional appearance, all members must standardize their names across all FINRP platforms (Discord and In-Game).

  • Format: First Initial. Last Name | Callsign (Example: J. Doe | 1A-12 or S. Smith | CIV-101).
  • If you possess multiple callsigns, utilize the callsign of your Primary Department in Discord.
  • Media team members and streamers are permitted to use tags such as [REC] or [LIVE].

1.4 Chain of Command (CoC)

The Chain of Command is the backbone of our community structure. It ensures issues are handled efficiently by the correct personnel.

  • Always bring your questions, concerns, or ideas to the lowest applicable level of your CoC first (e.g., a Field Training Officer, Corporal, or Sergeant) before escalating to High Command.
  • "Jumping" or skipping the Chain of Command is considered a breach of protocol and may result in disciplinary action.

1.5 Dual Clanning Policy

FINRP recognizes that players may want to experience other communities; however, dedication to FINRP is highly valued.

  • Standard Members: Standard members are permitted to be in other FiveM communities ("Dual Clan"). However, you must inform your Chain of Command if you join another whitelisted server.
  • Staff & High Command: Any member holding a Staff/Admin position or a Department High Command rank in FINRP may not hold a Staff or High Command position in another FiveM roleplay community. Your priority must remain with FINRP.
  • Poaching: Attempting to recruit ("poach") FINRP members for another FiveM community via direct messages, Discord, or TeamSpeak will result in a permanent, unappealable ban.

1.6 Leave of Absence (LOA) & Activity Standards

We understand that real life always comes first (work, school, family, health).

  • Members who cannot meet their department's monthly minimum activity requirements must file a formal Leave of Absence (LOA) via the designated Discord channel.
  • While on an active LOA, you are prohibited from patrolling in-game on the server to ensure fairness to active members.
  • Excessive use of LOAs to strictly avoid activity requirements, or filing an LOA immediately after receiving disciplinary action to avoid punishment, will be denied by Administration.

1.7 Inappropriate & Banned Content

If you would not show it to your boss or a teacher, do not post it in FINRP.

  • Zero Tolerance: No gore, sexually explicit material (NSFW), self-harm, or extreme violence is permitted in any FINRP text channel, voice channel, or server.
  • Controversial Topics: Real-world politics, religion, and highly sensitive tragic events are to be left at the door. FINRP is an escape from reality; do not bring divisive real-world debates into the community.

1.8 Rank Hinting & Abuse of Power

  • Rank is a Privilege: Holding a rank, whether in a department or as a Staff member, is a privilege that can be revoked.
  • Hinting/Begging: Asking for promotions, hinting that you deserve a promotion, or harassing your CoC regarding your rank will result in a promotion hold or demotion.

1.9 Resignations & Rejoining Guidelines

  • Proper Resignation: Members who choose to resign peacefully and properly must do so by notifying their immediate Chain of Command. Members who resign properly must wait fifteen (15) calendar days before they are eligible to re-apply.
  • Improper Resignation: Members who leave the community improperly will not be permitted to re-apply for sixty (60) calendar days. A resignation is considered "improper" if a member:
    • Leaves without notifying their Chain of Command.
    • Quits during an active Internal Affairs or Staff investigation.
    • Quits within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving disciplinary action.

1.10 Investigation Confidentiality

  • Any active Internal Affairs or Administration investigation must remain strictly confidential between the individual under investigation and the FINRP Staff team.
  • Members are strictly prohibited from leaking, discussing, or sharing details concerning an ongoing matter in public channels or direct messages.
  • Members involved in an incident are prohibited from discussing the matters with each other while the investigation is underway. Violations of confidentiality will result in severe disciplinary action.

🎮 In-Game Roleplay Rules

2.1 Core Roleplay Standards (FailRP, RDM, VDM)

FINRP is a realistic, serious roleplay community. All actions taken in-game must reflect what a reasonable person would do in the real world.

  • Fail Roleplay (FailRP): Failing to realistically portray your character or performing actions that defy real-world logic (e.g., jumping a sports car off a mountain, treating a severe crash like a fender bender, or speaking out-of-character during an active scene).
  • Random Deathmatch (RDM): Attacking, harming, or killing another player without prior roleplay initiation or a valid in-character reason.
  • Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM): Intentionally using a vehicle as a weapon to run over or hit other players without a highly justified, realistic in-character reason. (Using your car to ram others out of boredom is strictly prohibited).

2.2 Metagaming & Stream Sniping

Information flows through your character's eyes and ears only.

  • Metagaming: Using out-of-character (OOC) information to your in-character (IC) advantage. This includes using Discord chats, player blips, names above heads, or information you overheard OOC to influence your roleplay.
  • Stream Sniping: Watching a FINRP member's live stream while actively on the server to locate them or gain an advantage. This is a zero-tolerance offense.

2.3 Powergaming & Force Roleplay

Roleplay is a two-way street; everyone must have a fair chance to react.

  • Powergaming: Giving yourself an unfair or unrealistic advantage. (e.g., roleplaying that you have an impenetrable vest, or pulling a heavy rifle out of your pockets without a bag/vehicle).
  • Force Roleplay: Forcing an action upon another player without giving them the opportunity to react. (e.g., /me knocks the officer out instantly and takes his gun). Always frame actions as attempts (e.g., /me attempts to swing at the officer).

2.4 Value of Life (FearRP) & The New Life Rule (NLR)

Your character is human and wants to live.

  • FearRP (Valuing Your Life): If you are at a distinct disadvantage — such as having a gun pointed at you, being significantly outnumbered, or being held hostage — you must comply with the demands of your attacker. Pulling a weapon while someone already has one aimed at your head is a violation of FearRP.
  • New Life Rule (NLR) / One Life Rule: If your character is "killed" or incapacitated and transported to the hospital by EMS/Police, that specific character forgets the immediate events leading up to their death.
  • Return to Scene: Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, and Civilians who die or are transported to the hospital during a scene may not return to that same scene or use any prior knowledge from that incident for a minimum of 30 minutes.

2.5 Combat Logging & RP Avoidance

  • Logging off the server, using a "respawn" command, or deliberately crashing your game to avoid an active roleplay scenario, police arrest, or consequence is strictly prohibited. If your game crashes naturally during a scene, immediately inform the involved parties via the FINRP OOC Discord channel.

2.6 Character Realism, Personalities, & Corruption

  • First Responders: Members of Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS are expected to maintain a professional standard. LEOs/EMS may have one "personality" character with a unique trait, provided it remains within the realm of realism and does not bypass departmental policies.
  • Official Corruption: Any severe "corrupt cop" roleplay (e.g., working with gangs, murder, extreme rights violations, or terroristic acts) must be explicitly approved by FINRP Head Administration before the roleplay begins. Mild corruption (favoritism, selective ticketing) can be handled in-character by Internal Affairs.

2.7 Driving, Vehicles, & Mod Menus

  • Speed & Modifiers: Vehicles must not exceed 150 MPH on any road or highway. The use of torque multipliers, handling modifiers, or acceleration boosts in mod menus is strictly forbidden.
  • Mod Menus: Authorized trainers (e.g., vMenu, Simple Trainer) are provided for roleplay enhancement only. Using menus for trolling, spawning disruptive props, or exploiting mechanics will result in removal.
  • God Mode & Invisibility: These options are strictly prohibited. The only exception is for Fire/EMS using God Mode exclusively to avoid dying to a script-generated fire while actively extinguishing it (it must be turned off immediately after).

2.8 Cop Baiting & Civilian Stalking

  • Civilian Stalking: Stalking or hovering around Law Enforcement scenes just to watch, insult, or antagonize officers without a valid RP reason is prohibited. Civilians deserve to RP without LEOs stalking them, and LEOs deserve to handle scenes without random civilians hovering.
  • Cop Baiting: Intentionally committing obvious crimes (revving engines loudly, doing donuts in the police station parking lot, shooting in the air) purely to draw police attention and force a pursuit is forbidden.

2.9 In-Game Communication (/OOC & /ME)

  • Out of Character (/OOC or /LOOC): These commands are for essential out-of-character communication only (e.g., informing someone of a game crash, clarifying a server rule, or a staff announcement). They are not to be used for casual chatting, arguing about a scene, or complaining.
  • Action Commands (/ME or /DO): These commands are used to describe observable actions or environmental details (e.g., /me reaches into glovebox or /do The window is shattered). They cannot be used to describe internal thoughts or out-of-character frustrations.

2.10 Area of Patrol (AOP) & AFK Rules

  • Players must adhere to the active Area of Patrol (AOP). RP outside the AOP is strictly prohibited unless authorized by a Staff Member for a specific scene.
  • When changing the AOP, Staff must consult the highest-ranking LEO and Civilian online to ensure the change makes sense for server population.
  • Players may not sit "Away From Keyboard" (AFK) in an active patrol channel or in-game for more than 10 minutes. If you need to step away longer, disconnect from the server and move to an AFK voice channel.

⚖️ Disciplinary System & Zero Tolerance Violations

The First In The Nation Roleplay (FINRP) Administration expects all members to conduct themselves with maturity and integrity. When members fail to uphold these standards, disciplinary action will be taken.

3.1 Punishment Guidelines & Actions

The FINRP Staff and Administration reserve the right to discipline any member for violating community rules. Disciplinary actions are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity of the offense and the member's prior history. Actions include, but are not limited to:

  • Coaching / Verbal Warning: An informal discussion to correct minor infractions.
  • Written Warning: A formal documentation of a rule break.
  • Reprimand: A severe warning that may include restrictions (e.g., loss of a subdivision or being placed on a promotion hold).
  • Revocation of Privileges: Temporary or permanent loss of specific permissions (e.g., Media tags, Reserve status, or Personality Character privileges).
  • Demotion / Re-certification: Reduction in rank and/or being forced to retake department training.
  • Suspension: Temporary removal from the community platforms (Discord, TeamSpeak, and In-Game servers) for a set number of days.
  • Involuntary Resignation (Removal): Administrative removal from the community, requiring the member to wait a designated period (usually 30-60 days) before they are allowed to re-apply.
  • Ban Sanction: A permanent, unappealable ban from FINRP and all associated assets.

3.2 Profiles, Avatars, and Statuses (Discord & TeamSpeak)

Your digital footprint within FINRP must remain professional. The following are strictly prohibited in profile pictures, bios, statuses, and usernames across all FINRP platforms:

  • Offensive Material: Distasteful references to religion, sexual orientation, extreme political views, or personal attributes.
  • Explicit Content: Pornographic material, partial nudity, or sexually explicit imagery.
  • Unauthorized Imagery: Using real-life pictures of other community members without their explicit consent.
  • Slander: Bios or statuses intended to slander, mock, or attack FINRP, its members, or other roleplay communities.
  • Malicious Links: Linking to unapproved, malicious, or highly offensive third-party websites.

3.3 Zero Tolerance Violations

This section establishes strict guidelines for severe misconduct. Violations of the rules below threaten the safety, legality, and well-being of the community. Infractions in this category will result in an immediate suspension or permanent ban.

A. Discrimination & Hate Speech

  • Racial/Ethnic: The intentional and deliberate use of any racial, ethnic, or homophobic slurs is strictly prohibited across all text chats, voice chats, memes, and in-game interactions.
  • Gender/Sex/Age: Harassing, excluding, or exploiting an individual based on their gender identity, sex, or age.
  • Religion: Using one's religion or beliefs as a predicate for bias, prejudice, or targeted exclusion.

B. Harassment & Doxxing

  • Cyber Harassment (Doxxing): Sharing, threatening to share, or attempting to uncover a member's real-world personal information (real name, address, phone number, employer) without their consent.
  • Malicious Impersonation: Creating fake accounts to impersonate another member, Staff, or Administration with the intent to deceive, manipulate, or cause harm.
  • Sexual Harassment: Making unwanted sexual advances, misogynistic comments, forcing inappropriate RP scenarios, or sharing unsolicited sexually explicit images/videos.
  • Asset Leaking: Maliciously stealing, leaking, or distributing FINRP community assets (scripts, documents, liveries) to outside sources.

C. Trolling, Hacking & Exploiting

  • Server Disruption: Deliberate trolling designed to crash or harm the server, such as mass-spawning large props, vehicles, or causing intentional large-scale disturbances.
  • Communications Spam: Deliberately interrupting or spamming radio communications (RTO), TeamSpeak channels, or Discord chats with soundboards, screaming, or GIF spam.
  • Hacking & Modding: Using illegal script modifications (e.g., aimbots, customized crosshairs, faster shooting exploits, or money-spawning menus) to gain an unfair advantage.
  • DDoS/Threats: Any threat to attack the server infrastructure or a member's personal internet connection will be met with an immediate, permanent ban and a report to the proper authorities.

Roleplay is a collaborative storytelling experience, and the rules outlined in this handbook exist to ensure that everyone at First In The Nation Roleplay has a fair, enjoyable, and immersive time. We hold our members to a high standard because we believe that a community built on respect, professionalism, and dedication will always stand out above the rest.
